Game Payment Technology (GPT) has developed a cashless solution for coin-operated multi-hopper capsule vending machines. This solution was showcased earlier this month on the All Things Nice Vending stand at the EAG exhibition in partnership with Miura and Shift4. It enables card payments to be taken for capsule vending with a single payment terminal being used by multiple hoppers.
Historically, unattended machines have relied on coin payments, making them less accessible to the growing number of consumers who do not habitually carry cash.
GPT’s solution allows a single payment terminal can be used to manage payments across multiple hoppers without the need for complex wiring. This innovation minimises installation costs, simplifies machine management, and enhances customer convenience.

The GPT-developed payment controller works alongside the Miura payment terminal, coordinating transactions across all connected vending hoppers.
Each hopper features a dedicated vending controller, which detects button presses and sends payment requests to the payment controller. This releases the purchase.
Operators can link an unlimited number of hoppers to a single payment terminal, making it ideal for both small and large-scale vending setups.
The new system integrates seamlessly with the Miura payment app on the unattended payment terminal.
“By developing custom hardware and software, we’ve created a solution that not only brings vending machines into the cashless era but also makes it easier for operators to manage payments across multiple machines, providing real-time insights into vending machine spend,” said Paul Deed, director at GPT.
